Blog post 4 Topic: Time travel to the past or future
Since I was a child that question —if I prefer to go to the future or the past— has always been on my mind. I have changed of ideas. Before I thought that traveling to the future would be better. Now I think that traveling to pastis better than the future. First of all, I think that in the old days the people had a trascendental purpose or had a strong belief; now the people are in their own problems, they are more nihilism, and that is really sad.
But where would I like to travel? I think of classical Greek times, just at the time when Socrates was bothering the sophists or when Plato was teaching at the Academy, or Aristotle was walking, and at the time of Epicurus, Diogenes of Sinope and the birth of Stoicism. That time is around 400 A.C to 200 A.C. Obviously no one lives that long, but it's an approximation. Another times that I would like to live are in the birth of cristianism, like in the year 30.
The big problem of that, is the lenguage: the the classical greek language or the aramaic or latín seem very difficult lenguage —if now I am with troubles with the english, I can not imagine how I would be in that situation—. And also have the problema of culture, and the big problem of health, so I would not see myself living in those years forever.
it would be great to be there and have a good chat with the great philosophers of the time!!
