Blog post 5 Topic: Changes to my study programme

Imagen
I am in the fourth year of Film and tv major, and I am not so sure about the things that I would change of the study program.   But I realized that the study program has a lot of filler. Some subjects can easily remove, and the major could last fewer years and not five. I think that the subjects that we have in common with journalism are superfluos, for example —like “Industrias culturales”, “Funcionalismo y Comunicación”, “Discurso y significación”; I say this even though I was doing well in those subjects. I also think that the major in this university It is not so focused on practice but on theory. It may be fine, but I feel that I have a void on a practical level; although maybe it is because I had two years online classes jajaja. One of the things that I would change of the faculty is the infrastructure, because in my opinion it is very ugly and small, with tight classrooms and dirty bathrooms. Another thing to change is the cinema equipments, because there are fe...

Blog post 4 Topic: Time travel to the past or future

Imagen
Since I was a child that question —if I prefer to go to the future or the past— has always been on my mind. I have changed of ideas. Before I thought that traveling to the future would be better. Now I think that traveling to pastis better than the future. First of all, I think that in the old days the people had a trascendental purpose or had a strong belief; now the people are in their own problems, they are more nihilism, and that is really sad. But where would I like to travel? I think of classical Greek times, just at the time when Socrates was bothering the sophists or when Plato was teaching at the Academy, or Aristotle was walking, and at the time of Epicurus, Diogenes of Sinope and the birth of Stoicism. That time is around 400 A.C to 200 A.C. Obviously no one lives that long, but it's an approximation. Another times that I would like to live are in the birth of cristianism, like in the year 30.  The big problem of that, is the lenguage: the the classical greek langu...

Blog post 3 Topic: My dream job

Imagen
When I was a child I wanted to be a   soccer player. Then, when I was a teeneger, musician, and now, well, I dont know, or I know but I also know that it is almost imposible sustein yourself with that. Knowing with certainty what kind of job I would like to have is very difficult, because sometimes the future seems uncertain. But in a ideal future I would like to work as screenwriter or something like that. The principal reason is for my personality: I feel more comfortable in the tranquillity of the loneliness that in the showy ambient of filming. I also like to write and read, and those are necessary skills in a screenwriter: you must know how to structure a story coherently, and only reading and writing can achieve that. But I know that it is difficult to survive with this ocupation jajaja. I dont know how much earn an screenwirter, but I imagine it must be little —if you get a job, of course—. Now I am studying film and television, because that major helps you develo...

POST 2: The best concert EVER

Imagen
I don't usually go to concerts, because it is very expensive. In that way, I prefer the free concerts of classic music organized by universities and municipalities: sometimes the ochestra plays in churches, and it is very nice, and you don't have the problem of being smashed for the attendece. However, the best concert I have ever been to was Paul McCartney's in 2019 in the National Stadium. For those who don't know him, although I doubt anyone doesn't know him, he was a member of The Beatles. Yes, the tickets were expensive, but I was able to buy them with my savings. My seats was among the first row, and if I remebember I think I saw Piñera and I heard the mocking against him. Although maybe I saw it on the screen, and now I have a false memory. Ah, but I remember my happiness when Paul sang: from The Beatles songs, like Blackbird, A hard days night, Hey Jude, to the soloist songs, like Maybe I Amazed, Here Today, Fuh You.

Blog post 1: A country you would like to visit

Imagen
I would like to visit Spain, for many reasons. One of the reasons is because Spain contains a lot of history and the betters writers of all time.  Spain is the birthplace of Miguel de Cervantes, Unamuno, Pio Baroja, Quevedo, Lope de Vega, Calderón de la Barca, Miguel Hernández, García Lorca, Vicente Aleixandre, and many more.  But I don't know much about geography of the country, only that in a place of La Mancha, whose name I don’t want to remember, lived Don Quijote jaja. And I also know that Hemignway loved to travel there because the bullfights, and he also fought in the Civil War of Spain.  I just remember that the name of Spain proceeds of lands of the rabbits, because in the old times the rabbits infested the whole place.   If I travel to España I would like to visit the house of Miguel de Cervantes, and honestly I would like to study or work there: I wouldn't have the language problem.

POST 8

My favorite subject in this term was “Guión I” or Script. In the class the teacher speaks to us about different topics such as the type of characters and their motivations, the structure of the script, among other things. The teacher gives to us examples with different films (all the movies where very good, like The Veredict, Sicario or Chinatown) and that is very entertaining because the main contents is related to the movies. The objective of the subject is learning how to write scripts and for that we have to write different things like a synopsis. It is interesting because it is a subject where creativity can be developed by creating stories.  This subject is my favorite because I learn so much about how write stories in the script, because the teacher explains very well and because I always liked write stories.

POST 7: Topic B.

Christopher Nolan is a film director and screenwriter born in England. He has movies like Memento, Inception, The Dark Knight trilogy, Interstellar, Following, Dunkirk or Tenet. Christopher Nolan, since he was a child, was interested in filmmaking and released his first movie, Following, in 1995 at the age of 25 years old. Christopher Nolan studied English literature in the University College London. This may have influenced in the themes that he exposes in his films. Christopher Nolan has received many awards and honor.   He constantly explores philosophical themes in his films, as well as playing with the time like he does in Memento. And that is why I like it so much and because the films of Batman that he made were the best films of superhero that I have ever seen. He is one of the most important directors today both for his commercial success and for film criticism.
